Orphanage Outreach Donates Books
The Mayor receives 200 surplus books for new city library
The Mayor of Esperanza received 200 books brought by volunteers over the last year. The books are in SPanish and English. The city used our gift as the key focus for the dedication of the new library.
Local Peace Corps volunteers, Steve and Laura Przymus have worked for two years to get this project built. WOrking with a local retired school teacher, the library is one of only two in the region for public use. Dale and Steve installed seven computers donated by Microsoft foundation for the opening ceremony.
Two television stations and several newspapers sent reporters to cover the event. The dedication was broadcast twice on local channels as a one hour special.

Steveny organizes Spanish and English books for Learning Lab
Canadians Arrive
Twenty Canadian students from Western Ontario University arrived this week and have been teaching in the local schools and running learning labs for the orphans. As a special project they have been celaning and reapiring the basketball court.
This has been a special joy for Coco, our long term volunteer who is from Toronto. We have had fun this week telling Canadian jokes. This is an excelent group who was very well prepared when the arrived.
