Sickly sweet sweat slides down silk,
Slippery sensual on the surface.
A daring dance, driving the duo;
Drink her, debonair devil.
Warmth washes in waves throughout,
Walling wanton wonder within.
As passion fades, the night brings rest:
Peaceful slumber, perfect bliss.
I will carry you on my shoulders
to bear all your burdens;
Hold you close at night
to keep you safe and warm;
Paint a glorious work of art
of your radiant beauty;
And let you climb to reach your dreams
to catch you if you fall.
I will cherish you and honor you
for as long as Time exists;
Give you courage when you have none,
so you will never lose hope;
I will love you with all my heart:
This I promise you.
And every night when you fall asleep,
I'll sing you a smile with a lullaby.
Earring Boy heard a song, a catchy tune with lots of bass.
He thought he'd steal the mp3 from CD-Now or some such place.
But hacking in requires skill, and Earring Boy was too slow.
He pondered how he'd get this song. Where on Earth should he go?
With Napster blocked by his school, and banners on the Hotline sites,
He thought he'd "borrow" from his friends, but they were all out tonight.
Consulting Scour late at night, he found what he was looking for,
But all the links he clicked timed out; anger welled inside his core.
Exhaustive searches of the net bore little fruit about his song.
He searched in vain throughout the night; he was giving up before long.
As Earring Boy sat in his seat, the rising sun behind his head,
He gave up on the pop song and chose a good CD instead.
He popped it in his CD player; though he was still annoyed,
He listened to the best, from Led Zeppelin, Lynard Skynard, and Pink
Floyd.
Hush, sweet child, don't you cry.
Let me wipe your tears away.
A tender touch is all you really need;
Someone to show you the princess you are.
I'll make all your worries fly away,
With a lullaby and a kiss on your forehead.
We'll sit and let the time go by,
Arm in arm, protected in love's embrace.
Glistening with dewdrops in the morning,
A spiderweb flexes under a cool breeze,
Testing its strength in the wind.
The roasting summer sun is yet to rise;
The horizon is pale with gold and blue,
Triumphant colors for the glorious blaze to come.
Walking a tightrope, a red-speckled spider dances,
Scurrying a moment, and then pausing
To take in the scenery, admire the view.
She loses herself in the whispers of the wind,
Her tiny body tossed about in the fickle air;
A crunch of underbrush snaps her back to reality.
With the coming morning, she flees
To the shadowed caverns of a tomato plant,
Preparing for the onslaught of summer fury.
