Baby Kylie Enjoys First Car Ride, Mother Glad To Be Home Again
"Umm... Dad... Can you loosen this a bit?"

Kylie loves the baby afghan that Grandma Burke knitted for her!
"Hey buddy, take it easy on the aftershave, whydoncha?"

Today was a very good day! I got up at 9:30 with a really cold nose! It was bitterly cold in the bedroom. But I soon was on my way to the clinic to bring home Mayuho and Kylie. I was so excited! I ran up to the room, and found... nothing. Mayuho and the baby were downstairs getting a final checkup before being discharged. So I waited. While waiting, I packed up some of Mayuho's stuff in preparation for the journey home, then wondered if she might need it, so I unpacked it again, then re-arranged it, then put it back as near as I could to the original way it had been.

Finally, Mayuho and Kylie came back- no problems with either of them, so I went to the front desk to inquire about the bill. Are you ready? 336,000 yen. (That is $2,803.50 at today's exchange rate). As is custom in Japan, I paid cash. I REALLY get nervous carrying three grand around with me.

That done, I bundled up the baby, put her in the seat/carrier, and took all the luggage down to the car. Then we came home. Kylie slept (big surprise there) and at home, she slept. I showed her to the neighbors through the window, and she slept. Mayuho fed her, and she woke up.... then fell asleep right after. Yep, she takes after her mom there. Mayuho loves to sleep if she has time. But she does seem to be more alert at night... Maybe she'll be an astronomer...?
Warm!
