Who is daddy's little girl?
She had to yawn. I guess that long journey down the birth canal wore her out!

I have tons more pictures, but they are all basically the same. But as the days pass I will be adding many more. Stay tuned! Especially you, Grandpa and Grandma Burke and Auntie Sonya!!!!
Mayuho on Dec 25... Wow, that's what I call a baby!

Move your mouse pointer over the picture to see her on the 27th...

What a difference!

This is the story:
Mayuho and I went to the clinic on the 25th at 9:00, expecting to have labor induced and a baby that day. But the doctor said that her cervix wasn't dialated enough, just one cm, so he decided to use a saline balloon to help it along. Mayuho spent the night, I went home to a cold, vaguely spooky apartment.
On the 26th, I woke up early to get a start on the cleaning of the house, and somehow managed to spill half a bathtub full of water all over the laundry. As I was frantically mopping, Mayuho called and asked when I was coming in. I said, "Oh, about 5:00." (I thought it might take that long to finish!) But I finished cleaning and doing laundry by 1:00, so I headed to the clinic to see her. She was fine. She said the new, larger balloon the doctor had inserted that morning was a bit uncomfortable though. We played two games of cribbage, but the second one was interrupted by some pains low down in her belly. That was around 3:00 We thought it was from the balloon, but timed them anyway. They were coming at 6 min. intervals. She went to see the doctor, and he removed the balloon, but the pains kept coming. That was about 4:30 or 5:00.
At 6:00 they let me in to the room to give her encouragement, but she told me to "GET OUT!" rather like she was possessed or something. So I played a few games of solitare and waited. At 7:00, the nurses called me on the intercom, and I went into the delivery room. The head nurse said "Look, there's the head!" A few minutes later, the doctor came in, and at 7:15, we had a new baby girl. It was over so soon I could hardly believe it! I'll get Mayuho's version soon, but I'll let her have some well deserved rest first.
