OREMANDER
Some Facts about Oremander

Oremander's neck, tail, and body are long and sinuous like a serpent's. Her limbs are like those of a lion's. Associations with dragons are commonly made when she is sighted, but her head and face are reminiscent of the features of a feline. She has green eyes and retractable crystalline claws, both possessing powerful magics. She can fly wingless through the air like a billowing banner, a streaking streamer, or a rippling ribbon. Her silver hide resembles fur. Many believe it is not made of hair, but knitted metallic threads. The strong sewn mesh functions for her as armor, and she is nigh-impervious to arrows, cannonballs, and harpoons. In the rare instances when Oremander is wounded on one of her danger-fraught adventures, she can sew herself back together with her uncanny needle Corleer. Some say that the armorfur is really a suit she wears and that Oremander's true form is enclosed inside.

It is said you will see her if your heart is strong. Stare out into the ocean at night and greet the gusts of wind. She will fly down and meet you, her silver skin resplendent in the moonlight. Mostly she is seen when aid is hoped for and good deeds need doing. They say she patrols storms at sea, keeping a watchful eye on aquatic events. Numerous reports tell of doomed ships and lost sailors being saved by Oremander, who guides them like a beacon to safe harbor. She is thought to be a powerful sorceress, possessing magics that enable her to fly, harness lightning, and have her body radiate bright white light in fogs and storms.

Of all her characteristics, the trait she is most known for is her virtue. A very good judge of character, Oremander is also brave, honorable, courteous, valiant, and kind. She has been known to land on the prow of ships to mediate debates, stop the most perfidious of pirate plots (sometimes leading them out of terrible storms only to bring them to justice), rescue the drowning, ship-wrecked, and marooned, and even sometimes sew a pair of mittens or a scarf (usually anonymously) for new friends to keep them warm and comfortable on long ocean voyages.
