ORCHID has also organised various health and sanitation-related activities for the poorer sections of Nepal. A one-day free eye camp at Sudal VDC of Bhaktapur district was organized in December 1999 where free medical services were provided to altogether 235 patients from all nine wards of the VDC and its neighbouring villages. In January 1998 (27/9/2054BS) also, ORCHID-Nepal organized an eye camp at Chhaling village of Bhaktapur. Earlier, on June 5, 1999, a one-day ‘children health camp’ had been organized at Siddhipur village of Lalitpur. In these villages, more than 600 patients from the rural areas were provided with medical services and medicines free of cost.
