Captivity has been around since 1961 when the first whale to be captured from the wild was hauled up by his tail and dumped into a harbour. The poor whale survived only one day, but that didn't stop the idea of captivity poisoning peoples minds full of greed and money.
Some people catch whales from the wild to placed into captivity and be forced to perform shows, can I ask what that is all about? Animals were placed on the earth by God and God told us that we were in charge of them, but did that make us able to take them from their families and force them into starvation and cruelty? ...I Hope Not!
One thing that 'Orca Society' can't stand is captivity. The one thing that we were set up to stop is the idea of perfroming orcas and dolphins around the world. The United Kingdom has not had an aquarium that contains orcas and dolphins for ten years and I hope that it will stay like that. Captivity is not a way to preserve the natural numbers of animals around the, it's about money... that's all it is about, no mater what they tell you it is about the money. 70% of Seaworlds income is depended on the shows that Orcas and dolphins die to perfrom in. Should this be aloud? |
