Wicked Twister
Wicked Twister is now the
15th coaster to come to Cedar Point, a Steel Inverted
Double-Twisting Impulse Coaster, the first of its kind.
When you ride this coaster, you get in the cars and
get launched at speeds up to 72 miles per hour, turning
at a 90 degree angle and twisting 450 degrees, back
and forth 5 times. For added excitement, this ride is
located right on the beach behind the ferris wheel and
Disaster Transport. The height on this thing is massive,
at over 200 feet, making the Cedar Point skyline changed
again.
This coaster uses an LIM concept using magnetic force
to launch and uses a complex operating system of thousands
of wires and computers. This operating station is located
underground under the ride itself. With all of this
technology brings a hefty price tag at 9 million dollars,
but nothing Cedar Point can't afford.
Construction wise so far, the ride track
is officially complete, as of a couple weeks ago, and
now is getting final touches done. The underground station
is believed to be complete and ready for operation,
and the ride will probally start testing when the weather
is nice. The landscape is sand itself, so the landscaping
will be interesting, and is not nearly complete. Most
likely, a series of paths will be brought onto the beach,
and they might add some dirt around the ride, to give
it some bushes.
