| Day 13: Got a package from PINK ROSE company to tour Luangprabang. It's a two hours flight from BKK to LP for Bangkok airway. Thanks for the special treatment from BKK Airway ;). I can really see it really paids to have friends in high places :). In this case it was a friend of a friend. I even got an A1 seat from BKK airway, how special.... hahha.. too bad all the seat are the same hahhaa.. there is no first class :). Arriving at Luangprabang at 11.30, got a visa on arrival, no problem, it costs $30. Need two pictures with you though. Waiting at the door is my tour guide, a very nice lao woman tour guide. With a big van and just one of me I feel lonely ;). Anyway my package is one on one tour, yes very special but it costs a little fortune, the special comes with it :). After eatting lunch we tour wats, the weather is perfect, not hot and not so much humidity. By 5:00PM I am dizzy again, I need to rest badly. I made myself keep going, explore the little town, I found night market, everything is spinning at this time, I walk through the night market pretty fast, didn't buy anything though. Had dinner at 7:00PM, very nice restaurant across from Villa Santi where I stayed. Villa Santi is the best looking place on the strip, I got a very nice room, too. The service is excellent. This hotel is own by our very own Prince from France or his relative in Laos. It use to be an old royal masion for the Queen. Take some pill and went to bed. |
Day 14: Got up at 5:30AM, hoping to see the Tak-Baht in the morning, but I didn't see anything so, I took a walk, discovered other beautiful wats and also a morning market, this market sells food. I walked as far as I could but there's nothing much, came back and had breakfast and at 9:00AM, tour guide pick me up and we take a trip to Thum-Ting cave by baot. The baot ride is beautiful, the Khan river is surrounded by moutains, it's a beautiful scence. It's an hour and 45 minutes baot ride, we stopped at the place where they made Laow-Kao (clear alcohol), nothing much there. Most of the restaurants along Thum-Ting are closed because it is weekday and in May, it's almost a rainny season, not much tourists there. It's pretty cool to see little buddha in Thum-Ting, I am disappointed when I go up the top level though, it was dark and I couldn't see anything and I sweat climbing up that hill :). Got back and had lunch in town. Then I went back and rest a little and went out walking again. By this time I got a fever. I hurry up and shopped and had dinner and went to bed. |
