| Girls, naalala ninyo ba yung retreat natin? Sr Esther told the group it's time to go to bed. But we all decided to take some group picture in the hallway. Ang lalakas ng mga bungisngisan so she checked us out. Oochie was trying to steady her camera & tripod & set the timer. All of a sudden, Sister Esther entered & all the girls started running to different rooms, ayun at si Sr Esther tuloy ang nakunan! Oochie was trying so hard to be serious habang sine-sermonan. 3 different outings, 3 different times all in Batangas. Yung una kina Esther. Napanis na si Oochie sa kaka-hintay sa grupo by the CCP. Something about walang available na sasakyan na makuha si Esther. In the end, natuloy din. 2nd one, our host was Jo. Cecile even celebrated her birthday there. We all made a big card & bought a big round bread at the local bakery or sari-sari store (monay, in other words) siyempre with matching candle! The 3rd one was at Jean's place. It was in December at nag-simbang gabi pa tayong lahat. May nag-harana sa atin on our first night. Our class or dept was in charge of the "haunted house" during one of our school's fairs. Si Mayenni yung taga-greet sa mga elementary kids with her broomstick, cauldron & witch outfit. Ellen C was dressed up as a pumpkin pero di ba na off balance siya, so she was rolling away somewhere! Si Maricar ata yung Dracula sa kabaong. This was done at our Music Hall which was notorious for being haunted itself! What about Sol Crespo's unusual phobia? No feathers please!!! One time, Mr Faustino had a rooster model for us to draw and Sol was crying & hyperventillating kasi nga may phobia siya sa mga may feathers. After a while she calmed down & Mr Faustino asked her to sit in one corner separate from us while he gave her another model to draw, a wooden carabao! College won't be the same without McDo at Recto. Ellen D & Roselle's favorite hangout. Every now & then, the (imported) med students from FEU are there eating as well. Mayenni had a pet name for one of them, BUBBA! Kung lack of time or no budget for McDo, we just settle for cafeteria food. Cecile always has a request for the server, "Manong, paki-dagdagan ninyo naman ng laman yung ulam, panay sabaw, taba at buto ito!" One time we had an overnight at Jessica's place and siyempre party & drinking session tayo. But Ellen D had too much to drink & while some girls were in the kitchen mixing drinks, the others, were putting spaghetti on their plates. That was just too much for her to see kaya she threw up on the floor! Our Interior Design days with Mrs Reyes. When it comes to presenting our design concept to her, panay "reject" ang mga ideas natin. One classic example is when Jo M presented her "executive office." The manager's desk was facing the back of the entrance kaya sabi niya kay Jo, "Hindi puwede itong design mo, you see, nakatalikod yung manager sa pinto, eh paano iyan kung may holdapan sa building, eh di patay agad siya dahil pag bukas ng pinto wala na, nabaril na! Patay agad siya!" Esther invited the class to a party at her house but the only ones who attended were the Jeleli's! What happened to the others? Esther is the "px goods" vendor. She always has something to sell to us. Remember all the imported chocolates? Yum! Bebel's hair is not complete without her gel. One time she had to buy her special gel at the drugstore. The clerk got embarrassed when she asked for KY gel. Remember our afternoon disco at the Philippine Plaza? Oochie was wearing a fuschia dress. She didn't realize that it was so thin as in (see-through!) until someone mentioned it to her. So nasa panic mode na siya she tried asking people who's wearing a slip na puwede niyang hiramin. Here comes Joy to the rescue! Si Mayenni naman, she had extra hankies that she used as shoulder pads Cafeteria moment ulit, Cecile asked the server for a steak knife, he handed her a chopping knife, kulang nalang itak ang inabot! Our CR also served as our makeup room. Pebbles noticed Ellen's collarbone, maganda raw, o ngayon, Ellen, that means never wear any turtlenecks, okay? We were all outside by the gazebo, taking pictures & later on exchanging ghost stories. Ito ba namang si Maricar, pinatay yung ilaw & so lahat tayo eh nagtakbuhan. Napada tuloy si Norma & Oochie. Mr TomaCruz was Ellen C's pet teacher. When it comes to exams, he gives out the answers to his class! One time in our History of Art class, Jessica was so bored with the lesson & fell asleep (tulo laway pa nga) & there was a funny idea of Norma (ata?) or Mayenni, they painted their eyelids with eyes, para daw kahit natutulog sila during lecture, the teacher will think their eyes are open. Who could ever forget the crush of Jo, Mr Bringgas our Theology teacher. Sideline dati ni Carina B, making baked goodies to sell. She even decorated & made from scratch those Easter egg candies. These have been our staple lunch for 4 years: banana cue, kamote cue, mais, fishballs, corned beef sandwich, macaroni salad, pansit, rice-soup-ulam & McDonalds. 1 marami pa kaming kuwento..... 3 4 5 |
