DEFINITION OF CALL

CALL is an elective class in English Department of Satya Wacana Christian University. Before taking CALL class, some of my friends said that CALL is very difficult. However, I kept taking this class because I think that it will be very useful for me although I didn’t know what CALL is for exact.

I thought that CALL is a class where we learn how to make a website. Yet, it is not completely true.

At the first class, Mrs. Neny –my CALL teacher- gave me and my friends a task to search the definition of CALL in the internet. According to wikipedia.com, CALL is “an approach to a language teaching and learning in which computer technology is used as an aid to the presentation, reinforcement and assessment of material to be learned, usually including a substantial interactive element.” In other words, I can say that CALL is a process of teaching and learning a language that involve computer technology and use either online or offline internet connection.
