Chorus Students

Introduction

Welcome to Choral Music at Deep Creek Middle School! In Chorus emphasis is placed on learning to read music, sight-reading, ear training, vocal development, and awareness of good ensemble sound. The choral literature used repesents various styles, periods, and languages.

Grading System

The students' nine-week grades are determined by the following:
Daily Participation Average 33.4%
Public Performances 33.3%
Written and Oral Evaluations 33.3%

94-100 A
86-93 B
78-85 C
70-77 D
0-69 E

Concert Attire

6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Chorus Students

All concerts (unless otherwise stated) will require the following uniform:

Ladies
Black dress pants (no jeans, please)
White blouse with collar (no T-shirts or Turtlenecks)
Black dress shoes - Low heels are best
Black cummerbund and bow tie

Men
Black dress pants (no jeans, please)
White shirt with collar (no T-shirts or Turtlenecks)
Black dress shoes
