Omega Sigma Psi's Philanthropy

Our biggest philanthropy is the Sue Beron Scholarship Foundation. Sue Beron is a sister who died in 1986 from Lou Gherig's Disease. In her memory, we offer a scholarship of $400.00 to the greek junior or senior that shows the most greek spirit and unity.
To raise money for our scholarship, we hold our annual 501 Blues Contest, or most people know it as "Hot Buns." For Hot Buns, various organizations on Kean's campus and other schools sponsor a male to get on a stage and dance to his favorite song. After his dance, he walks around the bar that we host with a can that has his name and organization on it. His job is to try and collect as much money as possible. At the end of the night, the money in all the cans are counted and the winner gets to keep his money. The rest goes directly towards our scholarship.

Our recent community service and involvement includes Breast Cancer Walk, Light the Night, Somerset Hills, Up Til' Dawn, Family Day, Pride Bowl, MS Foundation, and cash and clothing donations to St Judes Hospital, the salvation army, and the Virginia Tech Memorial Fund etc.
