| This year's boxing season, scheduled to be held in September, was brought forward to June-July, amidst numerous activities such as the Annual Sports and cross-country. |  |
 | In view of the heavy commitment in sports and games by some boys, a new ruling was introduced in that no athelete taking part in the Annual Sports was allowed to participate in this boxing competition. Furthermore, boxers were only allowed to reduce their weight by one class after their initial weight-in. |
| Training started in early June. Organised training and sparring sessions under the supervision of PTI's were given to each and every company twice a week. |  |
 | Preliminary bouts were completed in three days whilst the finals were held on 15th July. |
