Francis Hardy Faulding. 1816 to 1868.
Faulding was an English Chemist, from Yorkshire.
Shortly after reaching Adelaide, in 1845, he commenced business in Rundle Street.
Faulding's story is one of success and enterprise, he quickly laid the solid foundations of Australia's oldest wholesale drug houses.
In 1861, Faulding took Luther Scammell an analytical chemist into partnership and business never looked better.
Faulding died in Nov 1868 and rests in Adelaide's West Tce, Cemetery.
Luther Scammell together with other partners expanded an already great business, and had branches in Western Australia; New South Wales; and London. They also had distribution depots in South Africa and India.
