Three maugham's patent bottles from South Australian country localities.

From top:
J. & A.G. Johnston, Oakbank, operated from c1844 to 1960s. The company used: codd's patent; maugham's patent; impressed (stone) ginger beers; and glass crown seals.

D. & R.J. Fotheringham, Gawler, operated from their Waters Street site from 1878 to 1902. Fotheringham's used: codd's patent; lamont patent, and maugham's patent bottles. The business was sold to Bunting & McCulloch.

Patterson Bros, Kapunda, operated from Whittaker Street from 1895 to 1899. They originally purchased L.H. Cooks aerated water factory and traded for just 4 years then selling to W.L. Haydon. At the present time (2001) no other patent bottles are known to exist other than the maugham's.
