| Charles Bruce Flint trained in Great Britian as a chemist prior to coming to the colony of South Australia around the mid 1880s. Soon after arriving Flint opened a pharmacy in Mount Gambier in the south-east region of the colony. He remained there until purchasing the pharmacy of Cyril Stubbs of Semaphore Road, Semaphore (near Adelaide) in February 1907. |

| Flint was then aged 59 years, and continued in business at Semaphore until selling in July 1919. He then took up manufacturing - his well known (Flints Medicated Oil), from premises in Chesser Street, off Grenfell St, Adelaide. This extremely rare - if not one-only lid was used between 1907 to 1919. |
