NAAQ (Not Actually Asked Questions)
Why can't I play an unseelie satyr or a seelie sluagh?
No one said you couldn't. Go nuts. -- In some cases you might consider taking social Flaws to represent problems accompanying your character's unusual affiliation.
Why are there so many more Seelie kiths?
That's accidental. Originally I had roughly equal numbers, and then decided that a couple of the kiths I was going to use from Changeling were really redundant (do we need Rock Giants when we have Ogres and Redcaps?); several of these were on the Unseelie side. The Beast-men merge the Denizen "kiths" of fuaths and fir-bholg, and can work as catch-all rules for lots of different legendary creatures (minotaurs, centaurs, lizard-men, even werewolves).
Why are only a couple noble houses of the Sidhe included?
Because it's a different setting. If you desperately want your High Elf to be more like another House, play a character with an appropriate concept and take the Faction Merit).
You left out my favorite obscure kith. What do I do?!
Play it anyway, or create something similar with the more complicated faerie creation rules.
Why are Goblins called "Gremlins"?
Because in this setting a goblin is something different.
Why'd you go and change all the names in general?
Because some White Wolf names were too ridiculous to bear (like "Kubera," the name of a three-legged Hindu god of wealth, for attractive fairy-women that live in trees).
Why did you change my favorite kith's Birthrights or Frailties?
Possibly because the original version didn't quite fit with the setting (anything involving Banality, for instance). Possibly just because I could.
Why did you leave out most of the Nunnehi? Are you racist or something?
Because affiliations were already getting too complicated, but if you want to play a Native American fairy creature, perhaps with an Earthly rather than Otherworldly origin and no ties to the Courts, go right ahead and use one of the Nunnehi families or make up your own. -- Also, some of Nunnehi families as written don't differ substantially from the "standard" kiths (see above about rock giants, for example), or could be approximated with a pooka, ondine, mer, or beast-man.
What's up with "Seasonal Courts"? You mention them in setting material but then drop it.
Flippant answer: Outsiders don't really understand the Seasonal Courts; that includes players.
Less flippant answer: Treat Seasonal Courts as optional Factions (using the Faction Merit).
I want a Seeming that lets me pass as a mortal goblin, not a human.
Okay.
I don't like the magic rules. How can I possibly play a pooka without the Chicanery Art?
If you can't make do with Discipline or Sphere magic equivalents, then I guess you're pretty much screwed. Sorry.
Why isn't there any Banality?
For roughly the same reason that there are no Sabbat infiltrators, Jedi Knights, or Klingons.
You've ruined Changeling! Why do you hate freedom?
We're not playing Changeling (this time). Someone else might be, or you can start a game. Have fun.
