Highsummer 2001 Cast List

This is identical to the list passed around at the game, except for the addition of details about S.E.A.L. as well as other details marked in red.

Ducal Court

The Court is located at Caer Asterlan, a crystal palace near Walden Pond. It is primarily accessible by trod from the Two Trees Cafe in Central Square, Cambridge.
Duke Nicholas Riley ap Balor (NPC; Steve D.). Satyr grump. Decidedly unseelie, Nicholas was once a fiery proponent of commoners' rights, then a wanted criminal for his part in the sinister Dragon Ritual of Lughnasa 1998. Now (for who can understand the mysteries of fate?) he reigns as Winter Duke of Novanglia, and currently acts as regent for the missing Summer Duke, the Fiona sidhe Sean of the Cross. Now deceased and/or transmogrified.
Sir Daniel Sorensen the Chamberlain (Jeff M.). Selkie grump. Son of the disgraced sidhe Lady Sorana and thus grandson of the famous Duke Asterlan, Sir Daniel runs the business of the ducal court when he is not involved in dealing with the mortal court system on behalf of changelings with legal trouble. Those who seek an audience with the Duke generally get him instead.
Sir Jon-Jon, Reeve of the Court (NPC). Pooka (fox) grump. Rarely seen these days, all that can be said for certain is that he is no longer the joyful trickster he was in the days of Duke Brendan.
Shayne Charge, Acting Captain of the Guard (Jim C.). Troll wilder. Shane, notorious for killing a fellow troll, a palace guard, in an ill-considered assault on Caer Asterlan (now sometimes hyperbolically called the "Midsummer Massacre"), was forced to serve in his place for a year and a day. He ended up staying on.
Mr. Breaker, Troubleshooter (Dan P.). Fir-bholg. Mr. Breaker, a newcomer, is rarely far from Duke Nicholas' side unless he is on some errand for His Grace. A mysterious antlered man in a suit, Mr. Breaker keeps his own counsel. He'll be back, and has a ready answer for the question, "You and what army?"
Goblin Bob, Court Armorer (NPC, Eric P.). Nocker grump. Cousin and something of a rival of Matthias Scroop (below). He seems to be spending a lot of his time lately making weapons.

Chi Mu

Chi Mu is a seelie-commoners-only freehold located at MIT. Its twisting, turning tunnels and scientific wonders are the envy of nockers and like-minded kithain the world o'er; its powerful Balefire the envy of just about everyone.
Matthias Scroop, Master of the Forge (Drew M.). Nocker grump. A well-respected proponent of commoner equality and skilled scientist, Scroop was also a member of Concordia's Parliament of Dreams until that body was disbanded a few months ago. His very recent apparent kidnapping has everyone in a tizzy.
Spring (Diana P.). Pooka (ferret) wilder. Pity her because she's a war orphan, feel sorry for her because she discovered her uncle Matthias missing from his trashed workshop, you still can't get past the fact that she's really rather flighty and irritating to be around, but that's a pooka for you.
Heimdall (Alex S.). Troll grump. Edgar Sorenson (apparently no relation to the Chamberlain) works day shift security at MIT. Heimdall is Protector of Chi Mu and a thane in the Duke's Common Guard. In either guise, he performs his duty with determination and without complaint.
Amadeus Crabtree (Jaime G.). Nocker wilder. Crabtree, a talented young craftsman, is Scroop's chief apprentice, and many are looking to him to solve the current crisis at the freehold.

Court of the Rose Garden

Baron Corwin ap Gwydion (Dominic O.). Sidhe grump. A hero (as far as the sidhe are concerned) of the Accordance War, Baron Corwin rules Boston's Emerald Necklace park system from his faerie glade in the Rose Garden. His arrogant splendor dazzles those with the Sight almost as much as his "homeless loony" seeming amuses or frightens those without. Now Winter Regent.
Lady Melisande ap Gwydion (Tricia H.). Sidhe wilder. Corwin's young protg and kinswoman, Lady Melisande is a haughty Gwydion warrior maiden on her way to knighthood. She is quick to take offense, and just as quick to forget your existence entirely once she has received satisfaction.
Dame Fulvia D'Intino ap Eiluned (Jen T.). Sidhe grump. Remembered by many as one of the "aunts" who forcibly intervened in preventing the marriage of Countess Ava D'Intino and the late Cassidy the Clurichaun. A cold wind follows this sorceress wherever she goes - quite literally - and lights flicker as she passes by. Everything about her, from her sinister wardrobe to her horrid little homonculus familiar, sends danger signals to even the thickest and most foolhardy of kithain. Oh, and she's seelie.

The Free and Happy Kithain of Novanglia and Environs

Baroness Jacqueline de la Noir ap Eiluned (Trish P.). Sidhe wilder. As unpretentious and affable a sidhe as you'll meet until they find Duke Sean, this popular noblewoman can become deadly serious and efficient when circumstances warrant. Now Summer Regent.
Sir Ashe the Grey (Scott C.). Troll grump. In his wilder days, Ashe Langdon was an unseelie head-booter who called himself "Tyr." Now, calmer, wiser, and sadder, Ashe has largely spent the reign of his former friend-turned-enemy traveling outside the duchy.
Sir Bob "the Good Guy' Roberts of House Gwydion (Josh P.). Sidhe wilder. This openly unseelie Gwydion likes to stir things up wherever he goes. That will certainly be the case here, as well, as it is said he has a family connection to the late Duke Brendan, and has recently come to press his claim to the throne. If you doubt he'd be the best, the noblest, and themost handsome ruler in all of kithain history, he'd be happy to explain at length why you're wrong.
Sir Niall Cornwall (Jeff/Skaven), Sluagh wilder. Knighted by House Liam, Sir Niall is one of the few nobles actively welcome at Chi Mu. He uses his mighty greatsword, which he took from the fearsome beetle-like Conacut, in defense of the weak and the needy among kithain and mortals alike.
Brynna (Sharon L.). Redcap childling. Brenna and her dolly and her pooka boyfriend Linus (aka Captain Hamster) have been a familiar sight in Novanglia for some years. But ever since that mysterious Habitrail accident, Brenna and her dolly have had to get along on their own. But now she has a new friend...
Stark (Rob L.). Redcap wilder (grump?). The newcomer Stark is a redcap and proud of it, and to hell with you if you disapprove. His hobbies include eating, overthrowing The Man, and teaching his young kithmate Brynna what being a redcap is really all about.
Alasdair Danger Chance (Shelby G.). Eshu wilder. Suave and sophisticated, this mysterious stranger is in town on some sort of mission. An agent in Her Majesty Queen Mab's Secret Service and arch-nemesis of Professor Poseidon.
Phil Logan, P.I. (Nick A.). Not actually kithain, the jaded Logan is an apparently human private dick with a long history of reluctant interaction with the changelings of Novanglia. Strange things are said to happen when he is around, and remember that it's reincarnated immortal faerie spirits exiled from their homeland in the world of Dreams and hiding from Banality by assuming mortal flesh who are saying it.
Moog (NPC, Eric P.). Satyr grump. An embittered former palace guard, the ex-squire Moog lost an arm in the line of duty during the "Midsummer Massacre" in 1998. Now he slanders commoners and nobles alike in his online rumor sheet "The New Angle."
Thumper (NPC, Steve D.). Pooka (rabbit) wilder. Like Little Rabbit Fufu, he bops things on the head.

S.E.A.L. (Society for the Elimination of All Land-dwellers) (details added)

Professor Poseidon (Kevin T.). Selkie grump. A scheming madman always foiled at the last minute, Professor Poseidon plans to flood Boston, then perhaps an area slightly south and west of Boston, and finally, one day, the world!
Naughtya Tentaculoff (Joanna B.). Murdhuacha (octopus) nix. Every supervillain needs a femme fatale in his employ. Naughtya may have suckered tentacles instead of legs, but she can still knock 'em dead.
Jaws (Alex B.). Merfolk (hammerhead shark) nix. Exiled from his people for some indiscretion, Lord Q'arsh now finds some purpose as the fiercely loyal chief henchman whom the hero has to fight at the end of the movie. Maybe he'll even be back for the sequel.

Whatever Happened To...?

Lady Andrea, Captain of the Guard (Jen T.): the troll grump heads the search party that is looking for Duke Sean in the Dreaming.
Else Ruth, Squire to Sir Ashe (Barbara N.): No one has been so cruel as to press for details from Sir Ashe, but it is fairly clear that the young pooka fell victim to the war that rages outside Mab's kingdom.
Eloise the pirate (Juliette R.): Ashe's niece, the headstrong troll childling is plying her trade on the high seas.
Rose (Karen S.): This troll, once a Baroness and Captain of the Guard under Brendan, renounced her title and position when she became disgusted with that Duke and left to wander the world. Apparently she saw little to keep her here during her brief return for Midsummer over a year ago. Some say she travels with Eloise.
Countess Ava ap Eiluned (Liz R.): Perhaps disgruntled that she missed an opportunity to press a claim to the throne last Midsummer, and presumably not easily getting along with her aunt Dame Fulvia, the countess is currently at Tara Nar, where she works as an outspoken proponent of Queen Faerilyth's right to succeed her missing husband King David as ruler of Concordia.
Sir Mary the Bed ap Eiluned (NPC; Joe W.): The former Unseelie Posturepedic Nightmare Bed now runs a tea shop with his wife Susie in Brattleboro, VT.
Sir "Big" Dick McGee ap Balor (Kevin T.): McGee, pro-wrestlin' eshu and aide to Duke Nicholas, serves as Nicholas' representative in the search for Duke Sean.
Lady Sorana (NPC; Joe W.): The daughter of Duke Asterlan himself and mother to Sir Daniel the chamberlain, Sorana felt that nobles and commoners were better off fighting and is now resides in one of Queen Mab's finest -- and most secure -- guest houses.
Troy Poodlesbane (NPC; Chris H.): The former anchor of the faerie newscast "Dreamline" is now a big-time war correspondent for the Chimerical News Network and even has his own talk show, "Eat the Press."
Ethel Fletcher (Tricia H.): The boggan archer accompanied the search party for Sean.
Tom the troll (Mark L.): Tom, muttering something about dragons, left for the Dreaming on Beltaine.
Everyone who used to be at Chi Mu: they all graduated.
