| [OH SNAP! NUMBER SIX] peter ferrane / nicholouse ferrante. "Tale Padre, Tale Figlio" split-ep. All tracks recorded July/August, 2003. Released March, 2004. PF and NF blow shit up in a big, made-up way. both bands are noisy, dirty, sincere, passionate, heavy, and chaotic, however in very different ways. peter ferrante is more of a buildy and barebones screamo band closer in sound to orchid than anything else i can think of. nicholouse is a lot faster and thrashier with elements of grind and random, sloppy insanity. both sides are pretty much entirely improvised on the spot, except for NF's "lick that shit," which was (more or less) written before hand. although i'm proud of both sides, i think i was more suprosed at how well the NF stuff came out, considering shawn's lack of pretty much any prior experience on guitar (he's a bass man, generally). i had no strong intention of releasing this until i went back and listened to these recording we did in the summer. i think our energy and passion really shined through and helped this material to not suck (at leats in my opinion). i play drums in both bands, so i don't feel like doing much more of a review with biases and all. somebody e-mail me a review or something. |
