| N.F. MP3s ONLINE... members: shawn huber (funnyvocals/myguitar) tyler gorman (drums) bio: noisy, screamy, sometimes poppy, something-core punk chaos with elements of thrash and grind... or something like that. it's loud and random and pretty cool sounding. word. after me and tipples hit up the peter ferrante, shawn seemed to sort of crazy a side-project. so he started messing around with my guitar and like it all turned into nicholouse ferrante well, we were first called nicholous ferrante, since we figured we needed a band named after nick too, but then shawn decided to change it to nickolouse and get some meaningless play on words action going. anyway, so i hopped on drums and we did a whole bunch of improv shit for a while and then wrote one song, although shawn's guitar work was pretty often |
| random (on purpose) and incredibly hard to ever play the same way again. so like a few days later we decided to record a bunch of songs, that first one we wrote and a whole bunch all improv-y until we felt we'd run out of ideas. we did like... 6 songs or something, all about a minute long or something, and mr. huber most deinately broke his three low-strings in the process, although the guitar sounds way cool on the recording for some reason. we recorded on the ADAT with just one mic in the middle of the room in two sessions. the first we pumped out 6-songs of impassioned, improvised loudness. somehow shawn's guitar work is actually really interesting, even though he really didn't know how to play well at all and was making everything up as he went along. i'm impressed. the second session (the next day or something), we actually wrote a song (well, we wrote the drums and basic patterns. we decided the randomness of the guitar was an important part of the sound. heh, yeah, that's right.) and recorded it both live and track by track. wonderful both of these sessions will appear on the upcoming split CDEP with PF entitled Tale Padre Tale Figlio, as they came out just too well not to release in some form. the dialogue before and after tracks is priceless in itself, anyway, and must be heard (shawn, i love you like a brotha'). releases: 1. Tale Padre Tale Figlio split CDEP with peter ferrante (OS! #06). |
