The NASCAR field..left to right: Steve's CAT Pontiac, Gilles Valvoline Taurus, Neil's McDonalds Taurus, Ed's Coors Light Pontiac, Pete's #16 Rainbow Lumina, Bob's Prestone Pontiac
McDonalds Taurus ran hard during practice, and as a result needed an occasional hand getting back to the track
Coors Light and CAT cars taking the high way around NHR's banked extension during practice.

Just as the SG+ support race was finishing NHR had a visitor, and with very little arm twisting and a loaned car, the Tyco NASCAR field had it's 6th racer.

The first official race of the day, these cars have proven to be quite popular since the first time they were raced at Newmarket Hills Raceway in Oct.1999.

Left: Pete watching his Lumina NASCAR speeding through the twists that make up the bulk of NHR's length.

Congratulations on the win Steve!
This class is well balanced and very competative. This fact was proven time and again as racers were usually seperated by track sections when the power went off.

The class requires a stock Tyco pan chassis NASCAR with a few exceptions..the most notable is the use of polymer tracion magnets in place of the stock ceramic pieces. Stock gearing is left intact however ski shoes and double shoe springs are legal additions to the electrical system. Rear rims/tires may also be changed to any single/double flanged unit and slip on silicone tires.

Ed presents the 1st Place trophy for Tyco NASCAR to Steve.
