Another baseball first in Ohio was the formation of organized
"Vintage
Base
Ball" (SIC) in 1981. Vintage base ball is a collection of amateur
baseball enthusiasts playing games for the historical reenactment and
demonstration of the origins of the National Pastime. Vintage base ball
clubs compete against one another dressing in recreated attire and
using rules from the Nineteenth Century up to the years predating the
modern era of baseball. I made great efforts to put together an
all-inclusive list of active vintage base ball teams in Ohio.
Unfortunately, due to the volunteer nature of vintage base ball, teams
sometimes disband with little notification to the general public. Many
vintage base ball team organizers comprise of historians and team
oriented web sites may be non-existent or severely outdated. "The Ohio
Baseball Web Resources" list of vintage base ball teams may be
incomplete and/or inaccurate.
