| Welcome to the Oak Grove-Riverview Charge of the United Methodist Church. We are delighted that you have taken the time to visit us online. We want you to know that you are always welcome to join us in worship (see Service Information page). The 222nd session of the Virginia Annual Conference met in Hampton from SUN-13-JUN through WED-16-JUN. The Oak Grove/Riverview charge had four people in attendance: Pastor Leon and Toni Basham, Jeff Bennett, and Ron Hardman. A report on what took place will be presented soon. The third annual Oak Grove Celebration of Faith is being planned for July. If you've attended this in the past, you know what a wonderful time it is. If you haven't attended (or haven't participated), then make sure you are able to this year. The theme is a combination of our faith and our freedom, and how closely they are linked together. If you want to sing, play an instrument, read a poem, tell a story, et cetera..., contact Pastor Leon. We also need people to help cook and set up the fellowship hall. We will be presenting a Christmas program this year, entitled "In Bethlehem Inn." This is a play and dinner program. We will need 10 people willing to have a speaking part and several others who will not speak. For more information, contact Pastor Leon. |
