Event 8 -
Race 8 of the Series saw the wind and swell that had been up all week totally drop right out.
It made it for a very hot and relatively flat race with little assistance along the way.
Right from the start the pace was on with Ken Powell staying out wide, Andrew Bavage doing well
on the inside line with the OC2 and Matt Carter just back a bit on a straight line.
By the time they all hit Pt Cartright it was Ken Powell holding on to a good lead to come away with
a great win.
The Womens division was contested well with Danielle Lindsay having a good win just as she did
last time in the same race a few weeks ago. Leanne Doherty did well to just edge out Robyn Saultry to
take second, with Carolyn Mood coming in 4th overall just ahead of Nancy Esse.
Big thanks to Bryan Gapes from Panamuna for helping organinse the support boat for not only this
race but all races we have had on the Sunshine Coast this season. Thanks to the support of the
Mooloolaba club members for the use of their boat through out the season also.
Next race is the Gold Coast OC1 Relay on the 1st of March. The interest in this race is looking
good so all we need now is some good conditions. Go to Event 9 to check out all the details
for the last race.
Congratulations to our Series Point Score Winners, some division were very close.
Their Presentation will also be at the Sobar after the last race.
