| Here are a few of my yarns.
I am new at this and just having a BALL! There truly is a fine line between hobby & mental illness! | |
| <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< I call this Deutsch90, because it reminds me of this color combination that I first saw in Germany when living there around 1990. One ply was dyed with Procion "Plum Blossom" and the other with Procion "Jade Green". Then they were plied together. The wool is white New Zealand Romney. I created nearly 500 yds of this. | |
| >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This yarn was a big experiment. The wool is grey MerinoX and was spun up a while ago. At first I was going to leave it natural, but decided that I needed to dye *something*. The experiment was to see if I could find a way to dye a skein of yarn different colors... and it worked. Call this one Tricolor Tribulations! | |
| <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< More techniques are coming together... I took the singles spun from white New Zealand Romney and dyed one yellow & grey, and the other fuschia & blue. Then plied them together. The result was a blast to spin... and the colors blended during the process to create green, blue & purple to my eyes. This reminded me of "Sunday at La Grande Jatte" by Georges Seurat and the musical by Stephen Sondheim. The entire painting is dots in only 15 different colors and Seurat left it to the eye to mix them and create more. So in honor of George Seurat and his creation, this is George Yarn. | |
| All of my yarns have been dyed with Procion dyes from Dharma Trading Co. in
California. Watch this space for more interesting yarns and fun! |
