There aren�t really many atheists, that is people who firmly believe there is no God.

Everyone else is either a theist, someone who believes in God, or an agnostic, a person who just doesn�t know.

Are you an atheist?

To be a proper atheist, you have to prove that there isn�t a God. That�s difficult. How can you be 100% certain that He doesn�t exist? You may feel convinced He doesn�t but that�s really just your own personal opinion.

If you can�t prove it then you can�t be sure that God doesn�t exist, can you? Then that makes you not an atheist but an agnostic. That�s good because there�s an ancient proverb that declares that an atheist is a fool! �The fool says in his heart, �There is no God.��

Are you an Agnostic?

This is someone who doesn�t know whether there is a God or not. The word agnostic means �without knowing�. If you are an agnostic then you may think it�s not possible to find out if God exists. But let me ask you, how do you know it�s not possible to know? Just because you are �without knowing� doesn�t mean that it�s not possible to know. You just haven�t found out yet!

If you are an honest agnostic, now is a good time to start searching. Supposing you are ready to admit you don�t know, are you willing to try find the answer to this age-old question? If so, you have a head start over the atheist. His mind is made up already.

You may ask, �But where�s the evidence?� Firstly, nothing gets here by accident. Take a look at a house. It didn�t appear by magic. It had a builder who worked from building plans which were drawn up by an architect. It�s the same for everything around us. Everything had something that caused it to come into existence. You can go right back asking the same question, �Where did the bricks, sand, mortar, water come from?� When it comes to the origin of the Earth, Sun and Universe, the atheist says something like, �It came about by a big explosion, The Big Bang, and before that there was nothing.� In other words, �Nothing exploded and here we are!�

It makes much more sense to believe that something or Someone caused the universe to exist. That �Someone� is God who exists outside of time and space.

Secondly, all living things look like they�ve been designed. Even atheistic scientists concede that. But many scientists, who were once agnostic, now believe that the universe and the solar system is so finely tuned, that plants and creatures are so wonderfully made and that atoms, molecules and cells contain so much information that there must be an Intelligent Designer. That is, a creator God!

There is a great deal of evidence that points towards the existence of God. It�s obvious really but it has been said that Mankind has always chosen to suppress this truth. It�s also been written that, in the past, God has overlooked any ignorance (agnosticism) on our part but now He tells us that we must change our mind. We are without excuse, He says.
But who is this God? And is it possible for us to know Him?

The true God revealed...

There is only one, true and living God. And He has revealed who He is to Mankind. If you and I were alive around 2000 years ago and lived in Israel, we could have met with God face to face. I am not kidding you. There was a man alive at the time who showed by his life, his character and miracles, by his death and resurrection that he was not only a man but also God. His name? Jesus. And because of what Jesus has done for us, we can know God for ourselves!
