    Interview question
Ed)) Rumor has it that you are one of the NZ boogers who have got off their arses and decided to do something to help the NZ booger scene and are currently working on a bodyboarding mag/newletter thing, can you
give us any details on it and what you are trying to achieve with it?
Goggles) Basically I thought the scene was a bit stale, I saw guys like Ben, Hemi, Jon Diamond etc ripping but if they wanted to go somewhere it seemed they would have to go to oz or something. Basically the newsletter is starting small circulating just around the lower north island featuring local riders to give them some exposure and also hopefully get a few more people aware of what bodyboarding is and get more lids in the water.
If all goes well the newsletter could turn into nzs first booger mag. I reckon a local mag is needed to help body boarding in nz progress. To do this though boogers have to support the people that pay for the newsletter (Boardriders).

Ed) You will be running a comp in the Wellington area soon, how is that going?
Goggles) Yeah its going real well. Im stoked Morey, Vescovato and Boardriders came through with prizes. organising it has made me realise how much work is needed and the amazing amount of work Bill, Des, Gav etc must have put in over the years

Ed) Wellington is renown for its lack of swell but it actually has quite a few rather secret and heavy
spots, which is your favourite spot in the area and what is that like?
Goggles) There's heaps of good spots Breaker bay would be my favorite its a heavy shallow reef with perfect barrels and bowls, but Lake ferry for perfection and consistency.

Ed) Apart from Dwayne and Pano Parata and Sam Peters who are the main rippers in the Wellington area?
Goggles) To me the other rippers are on the south coast Dan Charles one of the most dedicated bodyboarders with style like Spencer Skipper Dan rips if he got to surf more often I reckon he could go far. The west coast has heaps of young rippers the standout would have to be T Bay local Duncan Smith, this kid can bust all the moves and does it in any waves. He doesn't compete much but I reckon he's up there in ability with NZs best.

Goggles with a nice bottom turn.

Ed) I have heard rumours of a masked mystery man known by many as the legendary "Goggles" who emerges from his secret underground lair to fight against surfers for the rights of the oppressed NZ bodyboarders, do
you have any info regarding this mysterious character?
Goggles) Yeah I know goggles quite well, he seems to attract trouble from local surfers quite often I don't know whether its because of his goggles but if there is a problem in the water it always seems to be goggles that's
about to get a beating. I just don't think he likes people giving shit to lids and will tell any standup who does give shit where to go.
Unfortunately for goggles he's to little and weak to back his words up so it often ends with him getting a hiding. That's all I really know about goggles.

Ed) You were lucky enough to be involved in a few run ins with local surfers during the Nationals held at Mahia
this year, what actually happened, I heard you got your legs sliced off by the surfers wins and when the
doctor reattached your legs he actually mixed your legs up and now walk bow legged, is there any truth to this
    rumour?
Goggles) What you heard is right my legs were attached on the wrong sides and unfortunately I do now walk bow legged, the only upside to this is I get much more play with the chicks down at the IHC nowadays

Ed) So what are you currently doing with your life at the moment and what are your plans for the future?
Goggles) I'm basically at uni killing time and getting myself a descent base to work from I guess, trying to go surfing as much as possible and working at Boardriders the big thing for me at the moment is myself and Sam
going to Indo for two months in January-its the wet season so could be a bit sketchy but it will be an adventure anyway.

Ed) Anything else you would like to add?
Goggles) Support those that support bodyboarding, the best booger is the one having the most fun, congratulations to the nzers that dominated in ozzie, you guys rip.
