All that follows drove me insane and made me bleed from the fingers, but I'm a stage-whore and I love it. Anime Mid-Atlantic '06 Belldandy ![]() I got smart and bought a dressform for this one. Too many layers to do by eye. I'm extremely proud how it turned out. Functional and Comfortable. Altogether I spend about a month on this one, technically two because of the nasty flu bug I caught mid-production. Got First place in Craftsmanship too. (back shot here) Anime Mid-Atlantic '04 Lulu ![]() This is BY FAR the most painful dress I've EVER had to wear, but I'm the one who crafted it, so I've got no one at whom to bitch. The dress contained 32 leather belts, plus a yard of pleather, and the corset had 9 bones. All together, the whole getup weighed 80 pounds. You would not believe the bruises... (there was a moogle, but he was violated by the voice actors) Anime Mid-Atlantic '03 Kikyo ![]() I wish I had a better pic of the shinidanachu. I love how they turned out, but they suffered mold-poisoning when our basement flooded. One was a wrap around, and one was on a pole. Their names were Bruce and Campbell. I miss them. The costume took me a week or two and was exceedingly comfortable. It got an honorable mention in craftsmanship. Neko-Con '02 InuYasha Group ![]() 4 costumes across 3 cities? No problem! (seriously, what was I thinking!) It took me about a month and a half to finish the whole set (not counting last minute repairs at the con and the all-nighter the night before the build the big-f**k-off boomerang) Our skit was not well loved, though the first face-plant of the night, but we placed First in Craftsmanship. Minicon '06 Haku I didn't actually attend this one, I made the costume for my god-sister in DE. Never made a costume for someone half my size before, which was complicated by the fact that she was in another state. Took me about 4 hours. I heartell she won an award. Good for her. |
