SJAB In Brief

The St. John Ambulance Brigade is no ordinary uniform group. Above the crisp white uniform, the precision footdrill and the bellowing commands, the SJAB experience reaches beyond the school gates.

Not only does the SJAB’s presence prove to be invaluable at the school’s core events, but also in public. The members spring into active duty at events that requires them to put forth themselves.

When the members are not rendering first aid at the major events, they keep themselves busy by undergoing training, raising funds and interacting with one another.

For the SJAB, each event and activity spell energy, excitement, and enthusiasm. If there is a word that describes the SJAB experience, it has to be “Rewarding”.

About Us

Our school unit (i.e.Corps) is grouped under Zone 6 (out of a total of 10 Zones) in the St John Ambulance Brigade structure. Our zone consists of 15 secondary schools and 1 primary school. The Corps is head by the Teacher-In-Charge with assistance from Volunteer Officers, Adult Instructors and Cadet N.C.O.s (students). A few Corps is advised by a Corps Supervising Officer - thus forming a cluster. In our cluster, our Officers formed a loosely joint-management committee to help decide on important policies that will mutually benefit the Corps under command. The Corps are run separately but co-operate on important projects - fulfilling the committee's vision of "virtual synergized Super Corps". By working closely together, we are able to achieve more as this working relationship allow us to artificially double and triple our resources.

We also initiate or join other Corps for various activities. In this way, we will be able to learn from one another and grow together - hand-in-hand.
