| History While we were preparing for the two gigs with Man Must Die, we didn't actually know that these would be our last gigs with Fez on vocals, so we just prepared for them like we would any other gig, and then some on top of that. When we got the Cathouse in Glasgow, we were shocked with the amount of people who came and took our stuff off us and set it all up for us, and having backstage passes and all kinds, which was cool, and a nice new experience. We just chilled for the day in music shops and stuff, and took to the stage without a soundcheck due to various planning problems. We got a reasonably good reception to all our stuff, but one we started into the opening riff of Raining Blood, everyone was paying attention, and that was cool, having a sell-out crowd watching your every move. The next night we gigged here in Carlisle at the Brickyard with Man Must Die, and although the place wasn't sold out, it was a pretty impressive turn-out, with the usual pits going on and pissed people wandering around. For the months leading up to Fez's departure we'd been talking about a final big gig to send him off with a bang, and make a big deal about it, but sadly it never happened, and it was more like a whimper than a bang! But, before he left we actually played as a dual singer band for 2 weeks with Fez and Jamie, even though Jamie wouldn't be officially named as Fez's replacement for another 3 month. Somehow, during those 3 months there was a post somewhere on the internet by someone, who named Jamie as our new vocalist, which was frustrating, but when we did name him, people were excited that the rumors were true. So, as Novemeber approached, we'd confirmed our first gig with Jamie, and started preparing for that..... |
