| HISTORY Well, for starting out as a punk cover band, playing NOFX and Blink 182 songs in each others bedrooms 3 times a week for 2 hours at a time, we've got quite a history. Our first real live performance was at a school show, infront of about 150 people. After that we got a taste for the stage. We moved into a new practice venue, (Our local social club). We played a few more school shows, and actually wrote our very first song in there.Needless to say it never left the place either. We were later kicked out of their because we were always too loud for them, saying they could hear us playing through the walls. We then started practicing in a church hall near to where we live, thanks to Mog's Grandad's contacts! Well, we lasted about 2 month before people were complaing because we were too loud. By this time though, we'd started getting the metal together, playing covers of S.O.A.D, Pantera, and Deftones. The band then got it's next lucky break when Rich's boss got a lease on an old storage unit. He asked the band if they wanted to use it, so we moved in. By this time all punk had been cut out and the metal started flowing thick and fast, and the the soon-to-be singer Dave (Fez), practiced with the band as a 2nd guitarist. After only a few months the band moved to a new practice facility along with Rich's boss and his band, along with fellow local band, ctr alt delete. The new place, in the atlas works, proved to be quite a change from each others bedrooms. The band made themselves at home in the studio and very soon some material of their own was being written. One night in January 2003 though, Dave came down to practice with the band and found himself holding a microphone. Very soon the previously untitled songs that had been written had lyrics and names. The first song to be named, being Condemned. Eventually things started falling into place and soon a place on the local Allages gig had been secured at short notice. The gig went pretty good for our first ever and after the gig there was a sudden interest in the band, so we headed out east to Newcastle to record our very first EP. |
