| HISTORY We'd been wanting to support a band named Brutal Deluxe for quite while after finding out they'd be playing at the Brickyard, but we'd pretty much given up oin the idea and forgotten about it since we had no practice place and had heard nothing about it since we asked. The night before the gig we got an E-mail asking if we still wanted to have the gig, so we got ourselves yet another gig at severe short notice. We decided on playing the same set from the last gig at the Allages to avoid complications. After we finished our set we were having a chat with the drummer from Brutal Deluxe and he said "If you can play like that without practicing for a month, I'd hate to do a gig with you if you were on form." Which was fairly nice of him. About a week after the gig with Brutal Deluxe we found ourselves a new home to practice in, the masonic lodge in town. It's a pretty complicated story of how we get it, and not that interesting anyway, so we'll just skip that bit. Over the best part of July, August and September, Dave was back home in Venezuela and the rest of us were in McVities slaving away to buy ourselves a PA system, which we evetually got. We payed a grand for it and it's loud as hell, 2000watt output, make us sound like a jet engine taking off when we play. Throughout the summer we practiced as a singer-less 3-piece and worked out some new songs, Hell Decides and Personal Fade Out. When Dave returned in mid-September the new material had been written and awaited vocals, which they soon got. From that point it was just a case of waiting for a gig slot to return to. We got the return gig date in November 2003 supporting Psy-doll, a japanese "industrial band". For our first gig in absolutely ages, we had a fantastic time and we got our set in it's entirety on video, which we studied on where to make improvements for our next gig, december 12th at the Allages.... |
