The Golden Star Lounge series brings you professional spoken word poetry with an urban edge, diverse voices from across Canada and the world, and exciting, thought-provoking performers new to Ottawa audiences. Featuring, from Montreal, the musical/poetry sensation from Montreal, Kalmunity, a band of musicians, vocalists, dancers, and other artists that call their creative work "live organic improv." They run a regular series in Montreal at the Sablo Cafe, and they recently blew away Toronto audiences at the Harbourfront Centre. This will be only their second time performing in Ottawa - they performed at the Golden Star Lounge two years ago to rave reviews, and people who attended still ask me when they're coming back. Well, the wait is over!
