Jennifer Tarrazi Scully

Jennifer won the National Society of Arts and Letters, Washington Chapter, Modern Dance Career Award Competition in 1995. The funding came from the Charlotte Hamilton Ferris Award in the amount of $4000.

Jennifer is the Visiting Professional-in-Residence in the department of Theater and Dance at the University of Western Kentucky for the 2002-2003 Academic Year. July 2000-Sept. 2001 she was a principle in the long running off-Broadway Show The Donkey Show  which was and still is a Disco version of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream including engagements in London and Toronto. 

Jennifer has also performed with Michael Foley. She worked with this wonderful choreographer from 1997-2000. They were the guest company teaching and performing for the American College Dance festival (ACDFA) (1999) at Bates College in Maine. She is the female lead in the Full length, silent film NeoVoxer directed by Michael Pope.  This film is performed with a live musical ensemble in Boston and New York. Jennifer was working in New York City in 1999 teaching dance at the Ballet Academy East in NYC. She worked off-Broadway with Sharon Fogarty on two different shows Feminine Monsters throughout History  (98-99) and Heaven (99-2000) .  Ryan Douglass and Jennifer collaborated on the original performance art piece at the Gale Gates Gallery for the Dumbo Arts festival on October 18, 1998. Ryan and Scully and both worked with on the film NeoVoxer . Jennifer has one song recorded which addresses the Medussa from the "Female Monsters" show. In 1997 Jennifer performed in The Changling , a Jacobite  restoration piece directed by Robert Woodruff. The play was written my Thomas Middleton in 1622. 

Her choreography credits also include the Saxophone quartet Saxophrenia (97) which was one among many that year, but it was a good one.  Her most recent choreography can be seen in the film NeoVoxer. Visit the website for the film Neovoxer.com for more bio information on Jennifer.

Jennifer's teaching credits include Hoboken YMCA (99), American College Dance Festival (ACDFA) (2000), the N.C. Governor's School East (GSE) 97-99, Ballet Academy East (BAE) in New York City (98 & 99), Lecon de la Dance in Myrtle Beach, NC (97), High Point Center for Dance and the Performing Arts 95-96, and Camp Ton-A-Wanda Summer Dance (NC) (91 & 92).

After winning the NSAL award Jennifer performed with the High Point Ballet, the UNCG Dance Company, the Gamble/ Van Dyke Dance Company and completed her studies at the High Point Center for Dance and Performing Arts in Modern, Ballet and Jazz. She won a scholarship to work in the Colorado Dance Festival in Boulder, CO. Jennifer has choreographed several of her own pieces that have been performed by the high Point Ballet and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.Jenninfer Tarrazi-Scully
