John S. Aler, III

John Aler, III will be appearing at the Kennedy Center November 12, 2000 with The Washington Chorus, 3 p.m. in the Concert Hall. He performed Thursday June 8, 2000 at 8 PM at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral Street, Baltimore in Elijah (one of 4 guest artists with the Baltimore Symphony Chorus and the Peabody Children's Chorus). He performed in 1998 Salzburg Festival preforming Messiaen's St. Francois D'Assise; 9-98 New York Philharmonic in Kurt Masur Beethoven 9th Symphony; Nov. 98 Concerts in Mexico and Holland with Houston DA Camera performing Marcel Proust's Paris; Nov 98 Berlin Philharmonic performing Honegger's Jeanne D'Arc Au Bucher; Dec 98 Louisville Symphony Mendelssohn's Elias; Dec 98 Berlioz L'Enfance Du Christ with Orchestra de Lyon and Bamberg Symphony; Mar 99, National Symphony performing Leonard Slatkin's W.P. of Corigliano's Dylan Thomas Trilogy.

Recordings Awards include:

Grammy - Best Classical Vocal Soloist 1985 (Berlioz Requiem)
Grammy - Best Classical Album
Grammy - Best Opera (Handel Semele) and Best Classical Album (Bartok, Cantata Profana) 1994
John earned his B.M and M.M. degrees from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He also studied at Julliard School of Music and American Opera Center in New York for 3.5 years.
