Every Saturday, the NQBA runs a junior competition, for kids not quite old enough to play in our Monday night mixed competition.

These Saturday's have been extremely popular in the last two months, with sometimes upwards of 15 future broomball stars turning up for the sessions.

Two NQBA legends, Leanne McCormack and Peter Frisken generally run these sessions, which are very cheap compared to other sports. They both put in a great deal of time and effort to keep these Saturday's running, and their hard work has been repaid with good numbers turning out recently.

Although the Saturday's aren't a competition proper - the kids are just divided into two teams on the day - it continues to be very popular, not only with the kids but also their parents, who enjoy a good laugh seeing the little ones flying about on the ice!

The pace of these games is fairly gentle, so we even encourage parents to have a go themselves if they haven't played before. It's fun for all the family!

Time - 5-7pm most Saturday's (may end at 6pm if Nationals have squad training, or the rink is being otherwise used)

Cost - $5 per player. This covers costs for ice time, equipment, insurance, and maybe even an end-of-season reward for regular players.

Equipment - all you need to bring is yourself, and a pair of shoes. Warm long pants (eg. trackpants) are recommended. The NQBA and Warrina Ice Rink provide all the playing equipment (helmet, broom, elbow guards, knee guards).

Location - corner of Illuka Street and Bayswater Road. Right next door to the Warrina Cineplex.
