Wood

My journey down the path to the woods seems so natural and expected.  Although I never really did anything in my dad's shop, I did learn to appreciate and respect the tools.  The time I spend handling them now somehow brings a quiet joy to my life.  Other than the the jigsaw, most of my tools just hum creating a sort of music to me which I find restful and soothing.

Sometimes I  linger as I  sort my wood, stroking the planks, getting feel for what this particular piece with it's unique grain and color would be best suited for.

Here is my latest work and links to my other projects.

Latest Projects

Clocks - I have made a couple item with clock inserts.  Currently I have a significant project underway which I hope to place an actual mechanism with Westminster chimes into.  I'm intrigued by clocks made exclusively with wooden gears but know I need a much higher skill level to try them.

Shelves -  Here are the shelves, boxes and other items with ornamental as well as a functioning purpose.

Pictures and Frames - Silhouettes and picture frames.

Planters  - Both hanging and standing planters.

Plaques -  Some layered 3D effect and some from solid Oak.

Puzzles -  Something new and fun.

Xmas items - I didn't take any pictures of all the ornaments I made last year.  Unfortunately, poor packing on my part means many failed to survive shipping anyway.  I will be much more diligent this fall.

Yard Art - Something new that caught my eye.  I don't know how much of this I will be doing since I don't have storage for many pieces:)
