Having stepped through the door, it seems like you fall for an hour or so. Finally, a gust of wind sets you down gently, your feet finally hitting solid ground. Your only way to go is a path that leads straight, a light shining dimly at the end. You begin walking down the hallway, your footsteps making echoes as they fall along the hard ground. The faint sound of dripping water, what you'd expect somewhere identical to the hall you walk down, isn't there. However, what sounds as if it might be a wind chime plays in your ears. You decide to follow this noise if the light turns out to be, well, not what you expected. After a while your feet have carried you to the end of the desolate path, not meeting a single other soul on your whole journey. The wind chimes left you about half way through, the clunk clunk of your feet being the only companion you have. The light turns out to be a large glass door that seems to have no handle, or even means to open. A great deal of concentration goes into pondering how you might go about opening it - but to no avail. Your mind seems wiped blank of thoughts... but then, the door swings open. The inside of this new room is much different then the last one you were in, nothing near the circular shape. A very accurate pentagon, no sides larger then the other, are your surroundings. Musing over this architecture for a moment you miss the lights gradually fading to dark, and notice it's gone completely black a minute to late. It takes a few good minutes of standing, your breath caught in your throat, heart sounding as if it was a drum, before your eyes adjust. Faint, faint, unnoticeable flashes of light, almost the motion of a pulse, flash and grow lighter with each beat. Soon words are spelt, this strange text above the doorways which have been formed by the lights, as well. The readable lights spell out - Novafyre Tavern and Inn Forest of Music Rubylyre Library Many unreadable ones, the text seeming as if all the words were swirled about most vigerously and violently, border the room, completing the effect most elegantly. If further you step into the room, you see another doorway. An absent thought leads to the question, "How large is this place?" But that is all it is, an absent thought. Your feet carry you to this new door, though it seems, now, another pane of glass. Your hands rest against the cool material, which seems to be pulsating as the lights were. A thoughtful, "Hmm..." can be heard, though it doesn't come from your lips. You turn slowly and find the same female; who hasn't introduced herself, you realize, stands behind you. "Well, if it isn't our little traveler. I'd think you would have reached these doorways by more roundabout means; most don't come through this path. Anywho, welcome, since you're here. This room's far from finished, it hasn't been my priority, so to say. Feel free to look around, as before, though." She moves off to the side, flicking at one of the lights with disinterest. A snap of her wrist against the wall causes the dim lights to disappear, the room now flooding with a silvery green glow. A smile alights what part of her face you can see and she turns around, not waving a good bye to you, striding quickly down the hall you came in from. You watch as she goes, not making a move to stop her, and turn, instead, to the doors once again. They're now nicely lit up, the same text remaining above each. The jumbled ones are still there, those words not looking any clearer. You give a mental shrug, and step in through one of them, feeling yourself move to a different dimension, not of your world... |
