Novafyre Tavern and Inn
You walk down a worn dirt path, the moon or sun; depending on the time of day you decide to stop by the tavern, glowing above your head. If you look to your left you can hear a faint melody drifting from the Forest of Music that encircles the tavern on its South and East sides, giving the area a feeling of serenity. Located two miles to the West ( sort of West-South-West ) is the Elven Heights, and one mile North-North-East is the Solace, both parts of the Faewood Forest. A regular patron to Novafyre, Gisele, owns a shop that is positioned quite near Novafyre; and a regular patron, Brayden ( often seen accompanying Gisele ) lives two miles South and one mile West of the establishment.
The trees around the path spread out as you step nearer, creating a clearing of sorts around the front of the establishment. When you reach the steps you find the large doors propped open, the voices of the patrons inside wafting out on the gentle breeze that sifts through the door. You see that a rather new sign is hung on one of the doors, having replaced the worn one that used to be there. It reads : "Welcome to Novafyre! Faroe is the owner and tender and Ivory is a part-time tender - ask either of them you need anything. If they are not there, the bar is self-serve. Please, be considerate and fight outside - and be nice to the duckling." After musing over the last sentence ( duckling? ) you continue on.
When you step further inside you see that a fairly short fire headed woman which you realize must be Faroe sits behind the tavern's counter, located in front and to the right of you, talking to whoever happens to be sitting in front of her. To your left is an area full of tables, all of the sturdy furniture scattered intermittently about the area designated for them. Each window is wide and graced with deep crimson wood; the color almost matching the long rug you stand on. The light curtains of summer are replaced with ones of a heavier, dusty orange material, strung haphazardly along wooden rods and most often seen pushed back to reveal travelers and trees outside, even at night. At the end of the rug you stand on, across the large center room, is a single door that leads to a dance area. This is unoccupied at the moment; most patrons remain at the tables and bar stools. The fireplace to your right is only used on the chilliest of eves, logs and dying embers gently filling the stone.
A thin stairway leads up to the balcony that is positioned over the bar, about ten feet up from the counter. The inn's six rooms are up here, a washroom located at the back. Another large window at the end of the upstairs balcony, overlooks the full garden and the massive oaks that form the border of the Forest of Music. The harmonious music still reaches you, even from here.
When you descend, exploration finished, you find yourself near the bar again. You turn and see a leather bound book that rests on the end of the counter, golden letters carefully etched into the cover. They say, "Novafyre's History, Owners, and Notes". You either decide to take a look at the book, or clear your throat and ask Faroe for a drink, which she seems only too happy to provide for you.
Maps of Novafyre are rolled up on one of the chairs near the fireplace. You unroll them and see :
First story
Second story - (( Shows only three rooms when there are, actually, six.))
Or, you can leave Faroe a letter.
