Having finished read this you lean back in your chair, seeing that the patron Faroe was talking to earlier left. You ask her if there are any more special powers about the tavern, and her eyes fill with amusement at the question. "Oh, aye! Of course there are many more talents of this tavern. One being - this perhaps my favorite - is the power of restoration. If, say, a mage bent on total destruction were to pay a visit to Novafyre, leaving the hull of the tavern charred, it wouldn't matter. The tavern would restore each and every last detail of how it last looked, including paperwork and other such items. The whole process takes about 2 hours, if I can remember correctly. There have been arguments that no establishment could have such a power . . . I, myself cannot explain it very well either. The woman in that book," She raises a hand and points to the worn book that lies on the counter, the one titled, Novafyre's History," et cetera, "built it to be rather safe; it's not meant for fighting anyway . . . so had that enchantment placed on it. It's worked so far, I must say that I'm happy for that fact." Faroe pauses in her lecture, talking to a customer for a moment before turning back to you. "Anyway, talking about the enchantment again, that's only the main one. There are many more caked, persay, on top of it, certain ones to protect it from being removed by talisman, enchantments, et cetera. There might be a few that can counter it, but they'd be very complicated and would require a great deal of magic to beat down Novafyre's defenses. I'm not sure if it has any violent ways to defend itself, thankfully I haven't experienced them yet, if it does. And why people would want to destroy one of the few taverns with owners is beyond me!" She chuckles at this last comment, then continues again. "Anywho. Did you want to see the maps? A woman named Rylara stopped by a month or so and offered to draw Novafyre; I was rather amazed, to say the least. She didn't include the other three rooms on the second floor; there are actually six, not three, but the first floor is correct down to the very last detail! I couldn't draw something like that to save my life." She smiles, and hands you the scrolls, neatly stacked on top of each other. You accept these, but your eyes stray to the jumbled area behind the counter, peering over Faroe's shoulder to look at the various scrolls. Again, she parallels your sight and begins to explain. "I was searching for the meanings of some dreams I've been having lately, that whole mess would be my failed efforts. Though a friend gave me a book that will hopefully answer some of the questions that have been bothering me. I haven't had a chance to go through it all, yet, but from what I've read, it's very informative." She waves to a book-case on the other side of the room, then talks again. "That's a fairly new addition, I can't remember if it's on the maps or not... but feel free to check it out, there might be something interesting." Step away from the counter and over to the books, or return to your drink.
