When your referral comes in:

*Share your November referral with the us!  E-mail us with the following information:
      *  Baby's Chinese Name
      *  Baby's Anticipated Name
      *  Date of Birth
      *  Orphanage
      *  Province
      *  Vital Statistics
Please scan photo at 72 dpi and save photo as a .jpg file.

*Make color copies of the referral photos (you may want to laminate them) and put the originals away for safekeeping.

*Update family documents such as wills, life insurance, trusts, and medical -- make sure it references the newest addition to your family.

*Prepare packing list -- practice packing.

*Research your child's name, province and orphanage.  Try to find other families who have traveled there and see if they have recommendations. 

*Call pediatrician and schedule an appointment for 2 weeks after you return.

*Meet with pediatrician to discuss/review any medical needs or concerns you may have.  (see pediatrician questions)
   
*Start purchasing items on your packing list.

*Buy/learn how to use camera or video camera.  Purchase electrical adapters and extra batteries if needed.

*Talk to your agency about how much cash you will need.  Talk to your bank about obtaining new, large bills if needed.

*Determine if there are any additional baby care items or furniture you still need to purchase.

*Put together any baby furniture items that you may use the first few weeks you are home such as high chair, bouncer, etc.

*Start organizing paperwork in plastic folders for travel.

*Send care package to orphanage for baby.  Send disposable camera and translated questions to orphanage.
