Tui Na is one of the three main branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the others being Herbalism & Acupuncture. As such, it is used on a regular basis to treat millions of people, both in China and around the world.

The techniques are used to treat conditions ranging in severity from coma to headache.

As with the other branches of TCM, the underlying theory holds that the body has a number of channels that conduct energy or
Qi. If the channels become blocked or damaged in some way, the energy stagnates; this causes pain or disease.

Tui Na works in two ways:
Firstly, by ensuring that there is no physical blockage to the movement of Qi - this is done by massage and manipulation techniques.
Secondly, by stimulating appropriate acupuncture points to ensure that the condition does not return.

In essence, Tui Na gives the benefits of both acupuncture and a vigorous massage (such as a sports therapy massage).

The range of conditions that can be treated with Tui Na is vast and includes:

Back pain
Neck pain
Joint pain
Tennis elbow
Golfer's elbow
Sports injuries
Sprains
Strains
Sciatica
Migraine
Headache
Stress
Asthma
Low energy
Rheumatism
Arthritis
Fibro myalgia
TMJ problems
Menstrual problems
