Comments (From Table Above):
(From Marcel Cartier/Unit 35 on 23 Nov 08): "Used Hyde Appliance to service/repair the monitor heater in Unit 35. Contractor responded on short notice, on a Saturday, and did a great job. I have asked the gentleman that came to the unit to come by annually for a check-up/service. He said OK. No service contract needed (at least not yet).
(From Stan Swartz / Unit 6 / 28 Nov 08): Since Steve has been employed at Northface, Sandie and I have requested his services on numerous occasions. When our 25 year old window quilt (shade) needed some new parts, he found the person who originally did the installation and convinced him to repair it. When I asked Steve how much it cost, he wouldn't charge me and said it was a pleasure to help. He also changed the hoses on my washer/dryer. This season I couldn't find any seasoned firewood in the valley and fortunately Steve not only found someone willing to sell me 1/2 cord but also arranged to have it delivered and then he stacked it for me. I have found Steve to be very reliable and responsive to my requests and in general very easy to work with,

(From Bob Lang/Unit 19/14 Oct 06): Our original dishwasher died. Called Homer as he had fixed it back in 2001 but this time he felt at 20+ years, it wasn't worth getting into. We bought a new dishwasher and mailed him the condo key to install it. He installed and took the old unit away for $150. I'd highly recommend Homer - always pleasant and does good work - lucky to have him in the area.
(From Marcel Cartier/Unit 35 on 19 Feb 05): "Had a problem with garbage disposal in Unit 35, Homers Appliance Repair was called and responded very quickly and was very reasonable in price. We recommend them for similar repairs."
(From Bob Lang/Unit 19 on 15 Nov 01): We used Homer a few years ago when our dishwasher was not operating. I could not find the cause. We called Homer and he came promptly and immediately found the problem. The charge was minimal and the dishwasher has worked fine since then.
(From Bob Lang/Unit 19 on 15 Nov 01): We bought a window quilt from Russ about 13 years ago. He installs these on the side with his wife Joan. Russ did the installation and it has worked fine to keep out the draft from the slider. The only replacement part I've needed was a plastic side wheel (back in 1995?) which wore out. He couldn't come out at the time but told me he had one if I could drive out to his place (Tasker Hill Road). The part came to a couple dollars and has worked fine since. The only problem with Russ is that he appears to be a jack of all trades and always busy. We had a renter who dislodged the quilt from the track in the summer of 2001. We were not going to be up for weeks so I called Russ to see if he could make a service call to fix it when he was in the area. Its a 10-15 minute job if you know what your doing as it requires bending back the metal bracket and rethreading the quilt. But he was busy with other projects and was never able to get to it. So it sat out of the track until I could get up and reset it. I mention this only if you are not handy to make some minor repairs yourself as it might be a while before Russ can get to you. But this was due to renter abuse (pulling on the quilt where it says (USE DRAW STRING ON SIDE - DO NOT PULL) so if the quilt is for your own use, you should have no problem.
Input 2: (From Bob Lang/Unit 19 on 20 Mar 2004); I tried to reach both these men to install air conditioning the same way as unit 7 (See below). It appears that Armand Leblanc has moved away from the area. I left two messages at the number for Dean LeBlanc but never got a return call. I then called Gary Brooks for the job.
Input 1: (From Al Psilopoulos/Unit 7 on 20 August 2002); 'I had my [wall mounted kitchen] A/C [click for details] put in this past weekend. I had Armand Le Blanc install it. It was a great job. No mess, and very neat. I had a small problem with a wire under the window, and he went and got the electric man to take care of it, to move the wire and put in an electric box, was $48.00 and the carpenter was $205.00. Both jobs were great. I will recommend both these men.'
(From Paul Hutchins/Unit 30, on 22 October 2003); 'Recently we had the hot and cold [shower] water valves replaced and had diverters (2 knobs to 1) put in both bathrooms. We used A.J. Dasilva. His phone number is 603-356-2220. The job cost $930 [including all parts and fixtures]. I felt this was a little pricey however he did good work. He also replaced the hot water tank with the Marathon water tank. I believe this was around $280 not including the tank"
(From George Baldino/Unit 9, on 24 October 2003); "Shawn Drobish is local to North Conway and can be reached at 603-356-5266. Shawn is one of the better painters I've run across. He changes hourly and is very friendly and professional. If anyone is interested in checking out his work, they can stop by Unit 9 and we'd be happy to show you his work."
(From Bob Lang, Unit 19, on 2 June 2003); I called Tom to install a Marathon Water Heater (The lifetime warrantee tanks available from the New Hampshire Electric Co-op). He did an excellent job and was a pleasure to deal with. The cost of installation came to about $280-$300. My total bill came to $370 but that is because I had Tom do some additional work while he was there (move the water shutoff from the back side to in front of the water heater and to reconnect an expansion tank). The only draw back with Tom is that he is very busy - he didn't return my call for over two weeks - I was going to call another plumber but never got around to it. But once he made contact, he gave me his cell phone number and I never a problem after that - I mention this only so that if you call him for the first time and he doesn't get back to you shortly, its not you. I would highly recommend Tom. A fair price, pleasant to deal with, and excellent work.
