To More Web Design Helper
Now where was I?  Oh, yes, Tutorials and helpful stuff.  Whatever web builder you are using to build your website, chances are there is a Help Index that will give you Step By Step instructions on how to use it.  I suggest you take the time to read the Help Index BEFORE you begin building your first page.  There are times when I have had to refer back to "Page Builder's" help topics to solve an issue.  I've even printed certain sections of the Helper, to keep as a Handbook of sorts.

A simple text trick I have learned, is that light colored text works best on dark colored backgrounds, and dark colored text works best on light colored backgrounds.  Personally, I have been waiting for the opportunity to use this very light green text color, and the background finally presented itself..  While it takes time to coordinate the right color with the right background, it is easy to change if you don't like it.

Another trick I have learned with regard to photo images, is that 80 to 100 KB's is plenty big enough for a spot on your page.  That is, if you intend on putting a collage of pictures on one page.  If you need to, use a photo manager to reduce the size of a photo that is too big.

I've discovered that having a small notebook next  to my computer, has become like my "Web Design Bible".  Frequently, I may have visited a site to obtain this or that and forgot to save a link, and didn't bookmark the site.  Trust me, you will have to revisit a website to double check the layout of Linkware you obtain.
A notebook is also handy to write down any notations of changes you need to make on previous pages, such as, correcting HTML codes in your navigation buttons.  I keep a running list of the page names I've made, and think about how I will link them together, while I'm creating new pages.  Often, ideas will strike me as I move along, and I'll have a log to write them in.  There are times when I need to copy/paste an HTML code to make an image work.  To save time and face, I open up my Microsoft Word program and paste the HTML code there, with a notation, in a report that I created for future reference.

There is no way around it.  Web Design is a time consuming project to take on.  I know this from experience, as I have spent many entire days creating and tweeking my website.  But in the end, it will provide my family and friends a lifetime of memories, through much caring and sharing.  I hope my tutorials and ideas will prove helpful to other amateur web designer, who are eager to create.
