N.E.A.T. is being recogonized this winter by being awarded three separate grants for our ongoing efforts.
The local United Way has voted to give $ 10,000 in predevelopment funding to the N.E.A.T. Housing Committee to develop a more detailed plan for improved housing in the Ferry and Green Street area. In addition, the Middlesex Foundation has donated $ 3,000 in predevelopment funding to show their support for N.E.A.T.'s housing developement plans. The award of two grants will allow the hosing revitalization plans to progress to the next stage in the developement process.
National Gardening Association has awarded N.E.A.T. with more than $ 750.00 worth of gardening products including tools and seeds to be used in the N.E.A.T. Community Garden.
Do you have a child between the ages of 6 and 13? Would you like your child to become involved in a variety of activities that are both fun and educational? The North End Action Team is organizing a program that will match interestd children from the North End with student mentors from local colleges. The purpose of this program is to expose local children to the arts as well as involve them in the many community events and activities that take place in the Middletown area.
