			Round Seven vs Milperra Lions 04/05/02 @ Gordon Parker. *Firsts.* A very fierce and competitive start told the tale with a well deserved penalty converted by Craig Brown for an early 1-0 lead. A reply from the Lions and an excellent header by Shane Buckley from a missile like cross from Ozzie, made it 2-1 up by half time. Competitive football on the small ground was the the order of the day with Lions drawing level, and then another fine run by Ozzie was neatly put away by Johnny Hewitt for a 3-2 Win. Man of the Match, Ozzie Gogebakan *Round up:* This was a courageous effort by all the players. They should feel very proud as the support staff do. Seconds. Another good start gradually built up for Steve Nastevski to put away for 1-0. A few missed chances remained 1-0 up at half time. Then the pressure was continued in the second half for Steve again then Mark Callenan and Juan Rosas to finish for a very good 4-nil win. Man of the Match, Danny Boardman. Round up:** The team remain undefeated on 18 points after seven rounds..

		Round Eight vs Greenacre 11/05/02 @ Allum. *Firsts.* An entertaining game started with end to end football. Greenacre first to break through, then a Craig Brown reply for 1-all, a lapse saw us 2-down at half time. The second half was a soul stiring battle, Craig Brown netting his second for 2-all. Then 30 minutes of good hard football untill 30 seconds from the end, when a superb piece of never say die work from Darren Day saw him score for a 3-2 win. How Sweet it is !!! Man of the Match, Craig Brown *Seconds.* A slow start put us 1-nil down and remaind so at the half time. The second half much better with pressure building until Mark Callanan netted a well timed header from a John Kelly cros for 1-all. It was difficult to maintain pressure in a very stop start game and finished 1-all. The team remain undefeated after 8 games on 20 points. Man of the Match, Peter Retsos. *Round up:* It was a great day for norths I hope the players are as proud of themselves as we are of them... NEXT GAME, STATE CUP V. Marconi Juniors at Allum Park 2:30PM Sunday May 18.

		State Cup vs Marconi Juniors 19/05/02 @ Allum. A whirlwind start led Tim Vidler scoring his first goal for Norths within the first minute. Both teams had a number of chances from there but could not convert, with one of the saves of the year being brought off by Stavros to turn a well hit shot that was curling into the far corner; being pushed around the post. Marconi leveled with a penalty before half time for 1-all. The second half again had many chances for both teams, but 1-all at 90 minutes meant extra time, Golden Goal. With just two minutes of extra time left, a fine piece of teamwork from Trent, Jason and Johnny led Johnny slotting home an excellent goal from a very narrow angle. Man of the match: Stavros Christophorou. Round Up: This was a fine effort, full of spirit from the 13 Players we had available. NEXT GAME, V. Yagoona Lions at George Green Saturday 25 May 1 and 3PM.
