THE SCHOOL


1. GROUND FLOOR CLASSROOMS- The school has three classrooms. The three classrooms are located at the ground, and each can house fifteen kids. All are separated by wooden walls and is accessible by wooden doors. Concrete slabs were used for the flooring covered with rubber matting to cushion kids in case of fall. The high ceiling for good ventilation is made of wooden planks. The classroom on the left of the hallway has two large windows protected by grills, screens, and sliding doors made of wood and glass which can easily let in natural light and air in case of brown out. The classroom on the right of the hallway has one large window protected by grills, screens, and sliding doors made of wood and glass and a main door made of partly wood and smoked glass with grills to let in natural light. The third classroom adjacent to the right classroom has one window protected by grills, screens and sliding doors made of wood and glass to let in natural light. It is separated from the other classroom by a wooden wall.

Each classroom is equipped with one air conditioning unit, one forty watts fluorescent bulb, two fans, one white board, one bulletin board, one First Aide cabinet, low cabinets for the children’s things.

2. READING CORNER - A Reading Corner can be found at the end of the hallway. It has rubber mats for its floor, pillows, and two shelves full of books.

3. SCIENCE CORNER - One can find small science areas in the individual classrooms through illustrations of the life cycle of the frog and the butterfly. The school also owns two pet dogs namely, Hannah Girl- a yellow labrador retriever that is one year and five months old and Carlos – a salt and pepper miniature schnauzer that is five years old. Once in a while, the labrador retriever is allowed to stay in the classroom for kids to pet, especially when the topic is about pet animals. She is a very friendly dog who is quite popular in school.

4. PLAY AREA - There are two play areas in school. The play area in the hallway has shelves for toys that cater to fine motor skills or pretend play, including a Little Tikes play house for kids to go in and out. The play area located outside is composed of three Little Tikes jungle/gym slides. This covered play area has flooring made of concrete and is covered by red rubber matting to cushion kids in case of fall. The metal railings or posts have been wrapped with rubber matting for protection. A black net has been installed to define the perimeter of the play area and to serve as soft walls.

5. KITCHEN/WASH AREA - This area is bounded by wooden walls and concrete flooring. It contains one stainless faucet, big white sink. Its ample water supply is provided by a water pump. A riser for the kids to reach the sink and a towel holder with a towel within the child’s reach have also been provided.


6. GARDEN – Th e garden is separated from the school by a concrete driveway. The garden houses pots with live plants and trees like langka, mango, narra, duhat, avocado coconut, kamias, and sampaloc. This wide varieties of trees are very helpful when the kids study about parts of the plants, woody and fruit bearing trees. Carabao grass can be found at one area of the garden. In the waiting area of the fetchers, one can find a wooden table attached to the mango tree and is covered with formica with ample monoblock chairs.


7. COMFORT ROOMS - Two comfort rooms can be found in the school. Wooden walls comprise the upper portion of the walls and the lower portion is made of concrete material with white tiles. Each has a window for proper ventilation and each has ample water supply. The comfort room for girls located inside the school has a porcelain sink and a toilet bowl. The comfort room for boys is adjacent to the school with two urinals and a toilet bowl.

8. OFFICE – This is located within the hallway which is separated by two tall shelves. It has three antique chairs, a coffee table and a low cabinet, a fan, parenting books for parents waiting to be entertained.

9. CLINIC – The clinic is located at the mezzanine. It has a foldable sofa bed, weighing scale, first aide kit composed of a bottle of alcohol, thermometer, tempra syrup, betadine, cotton buds, cotton, hydrogen peroxide, gauze pad, mediplast assorted strips, first aide paper tape, scissors, Bye-Bye Fever Strip for instant cooling sensation.
