Here You will find a complete list of facts and the background history of Nodokria. General Facts The Weather Systems: The weather of Nodokria is relatively calm, usually overcast in the northern regions and sunnier in the southern regions. North of Farameen, it is usually cold and snowy, and below that nice and sunny. However, during the winter months, snow will fall south of Farameen.
The Currency The Currency Used in Nodokria, is the traditional gold piece. Silver and copper being worth less, and platinum being worth more. (see exchange chart for more info on trading currencies)
The Government Of Nodokria The government is a Theocracy, worshipping almost all the Demi-Gods of Normune. Believing in diversity to be a strength, the High Priests have given each god a place in the Divine Hierarchy depending on that gods power, and worshiping a Supreme God over all the others. The Supreme God (see the Demi-Gods page) is like the compilation of every other god, and thus he has no alignment and favours all who worship either a good god or an evil god. The current High Priests that are in power:
First Cleric
The First Cleric: is the
head of the High Priests and makes all the final discussion. He or she also has
the supreme privilege to speak with the Supreme Demi-God, Normaria. The History Of Nodokria Present time is that of the year 1543 on the Foramshire Calendar. (there are different calendars, than this, please see the World Info page.) The Nodokrian Nation was formed approximately one thousand one hundred years ago, making it the oldest country on Normune. Through the teachings of the churches, which worshiped several Demi-Gods, this land prospered and grew past its original city to the north and to the south (approx the year 300), also to the east and west at a later date (approx the year 325). When they met the ocean to the west, people vowed to explore beyond the horizon, setting sail in all forms of ships from small sail boats to entire fleets of galleons. They sailed west for months, many died from lack of proper nutrition or from poor treatment on board. They caught site of land and landed on a grouping of islands. (see The Solanium Republic for more) The year 534 the Cordle Doo was created and given to the Emperor Morak E'Tir. (more on this story soon) For five hundred years the Nodokrian People lived in peace, worshipping their gods and tilling their earth. It was not until the discovery of the Elves did things change. The Great explorer Norfrom Freeman was the first to discover the Elvish settlements to the extreme south, past the Nemorian Sea. First contact with a new race set Nodokrian history, however that was hardly the end of Norfrom's journey in this life. As Norfrom's research continued he discovered another milestone in Nodokrian history. The Arcane Magics. Norfrom became obsessed with the arcane magics, eventually leaving his faith behind and taking up the study of the "Elves Gift" as he called it. He became so obsessed with it, in fact, that it completely ruled his life and those around him. Proclaiming himself Emperor, and renaming the Southern Region to The Imperium, his power quickly spread, and with it so did his evil heart. Those who would not follow him were either thrown in prison cells to rot or sent to the slave mines of Korma. The Nodokrian people that had survived the initial calamity, fled back to Marfreean (Nodokria's capitol city) and reported Norfrom's treachery to the High Priests. Soon, war broke out between Nodokria and the Imperium. Crossing the Nemorian Sea, the armies of Nodokria landed on the shores of Hormans Gate. The battle that ensued was short lived. Caught un-prepared, thinking the Nodokrian Armies would travel by land, The Imperium Forces were easily flanked from behind and removed with little trouble since the Nodokrian forces used their own fortifications against them. The Nodokrian forces traveled through the Sormon Forest and encountered no resistance save a raiding party or two. They soon arrived at what is now the Magicians Conglomerate (The Imperiums Capitol City) and lay siege to Norfrom's fortifications. Protected by powerful arcane magics, the general army was unable to proceed. The High Priests themselves came to remove Norfrom. They spent days casting spells against the huge tower, which did nothing to the powerful magics. (It turned out later that Norfrom was sacrificing Elven wizards to maintain the spells that protected him) After a weeks attempts at taking down the protections, the clerics were forced to make a choice. Either give up and go home, or remove the tower the only way they had left, to sacrifice one of their own. With the knowledge that Norfrom would do more damage in the future to the Elves and the peoples of the Imperium, the High Priests made the sacrifice. The most powerful of them, Dorian Lorgos (a half elf), stepped toward the tower and began to cast his last spell. Seconds after he started casting, a pale shaft of light began to envelop him from the heavens. He slowly rose from the ground as he cast, the shaft of light getting brighter as he ascended. Soon, after Dorian was quite the ways up, another shaft of light dawned upon the land, this time upon the tower. The higher Dorian rose the brighter both shafts got. Eventually, Dorian disappeared behind the clouds, the shaft of light disappearing and the clouds closing where it was. A loud thunderclap was heard, followed by several more, the clouds began to circle the remaining shaft of light that was over the tower. Suddenly the shaft of light flared and screaming from the clouds was a massive bold of yellow magical energy. It came smashing down upon the tower. Then silence. It seemed their last effort had failed, and that Norfrom was victorious. But just as they turned to retreat home a loud crack was heard. They all turned in time to see a shard of the tower fall to the ground with a loud thump. Immediately after the first hit the ground, successive cracks added to the shard on the ground. But that was not all. As the shards were falling, a great white light emanated from the surviving windows of the tower. The light became brighter and brighter, eventually forcing the army on the ground to shield their eyes. Then it happened. With the sound of a thousand magic missiles, the tower exploded outward, spraying the below army with pebbles of what was left of the tower. With the threat of Norfrom now removed, the Nodokrian army went home. There ceremonies were held for those who showed particular valor during battle, and a memorial from Dorian Lorgos, who gave them freedom. The elves then took over the Imperium, leading it in a Magocracy and devoting their new found resources that Norfrom left behind to the benefit of those who wished to learn the ways of Mage. Things once again continued business as usual. Trade was established with the Imperium and a century later, the Glorian State was created to the north west of the Imperium. In the year 1520, rumor had spread that information on the legendary Cordle Doo was rumored to have surfaced and many began the search. Only in the year 1542 was there a major break through with the discovery of the tomb of Morak E'Tir, the powerful emperor who was given the set of armour from the gods.
