NJ's Notes  OCTOBER
Welcome to October's installment of notes.  I was very pleased with my efforts last month
to keep things current - and hope to keep on with it.  There will be lots to write about, as I
am supposed to be going back to New York City on the tenth.

10 / 05 / 02     Well, Mom took me to outpatients this afternoon, and the reason I was having trouble getting rid of this cold is
because it's actually bronchitis.... so there you go....   At least now I have antibiotics, and can almost count on
being close to 100% better by Thursday.
Please be better ... Please be better ....

Today has turned out rather nicely, when you consider the storm we got lashed with last nite - I assume it was a little taste of Lili - pretty impressive wind gusts...

I am currently working on two more websites - one a graphics collection, the second is my craft webstore.  Hopefully everyone knows that I have one online store up - you can
check it out here.  The Star website is going along nicely, and thank goodness is fairly low maintenence at this point.  If you're interested in visiting, the url is www.geocities.com/oes_324

10 / 06 / 02      My Mom is the best - she showed up today not only with a jug of apple juice, but also a coffe and chilli from
Tim Hortons ....  How do Americans live without Timmy's?!

Spent most of today working on my
graphics website - and that was only just the start of the penguin clip art.  Not much of a
day to do anything else as we are still getting Lili remnants.  Lots of rain and wind - I realized it's time to fill up the birdfeeders
again, as there were some little visitors huddled around the soggy leftovers.

10 / 19 / 12      Well, I'm back home again.... New York and Toronto were fabulous, but home is better!!  I think I'll put any
more travel plans on a long hold for now..... though of course, there's still that invite to Vegas at the end of November ... and someone else had said something about a trip south in the winter  .....!!!   Speaking of winter - I was talking
to a few people about the possibility of snow here anytime soon - and there it was waiting for me on Friday morning!  Now it
didn't stay very long, but more is just around the corner.

I prefer snow to rain
almost any day - and rain is about all we got in New York..... my first night there we went to go see 42nd Street, which was kind of cute - my friend however called it the "chick-flick of musicals".  To me the funniest thing was seeing Tom Wopat, of "Dukes of Hazzard" on a Broadway stage - who knew Luke Duke could really sing?! The next day it was the Hayden Planetarium and the Museum of Natural History, which unfortunately closed too early to really enjoy.  I also squeezed in some culture in the Hamptons.  Went to a Dali exhibit hoping to maybe gain an appreciation for his art - and came away decided that his "vision" translate much better as jewellery.....  Also went to the Pollack - Krasner House in the Springs.
If you'd like to see a few of the picutes from my trip, you can
click right here.

So, home again, at my computer, and what else is on my mind ... hmmm ... ex-boyfriends in general  ... ex-boyfriends in Toronto specifically ...  What I'd like to know is why they try to be who they think you want them to be instead of who they truly are... Why do they tell you what they think you want to hear, instead of what they're really thinking or feeling?  And why do they assume they know what
you are thinking or what you are doing - Forget about "communication" - they'd rather make false assumptions and f*** up the world.  I will never understand a single one of them  and they all drive me up the wall !!!!!!

10 / 22 / 02       We have been getting little spells of snow - but it's melting just as quickly as it settles - thank goodness, who
wants to trick-or-treat in the snow?  I spent part of today digging out all my Halloween stuff from the shed
and started decorating the house and yard - I had forgotten I had
so much!!!! All those years decorating the bar, it never seemed to go far enough - but now I think there must be enough here to decorate ten houses, as my Mom said!!!

We've had some relatives in town the last two days, my great-aunt Hazel and my Mom's cousin Judy with her husband Bob.  Judy and I figured out that it must be at least 20 years since we'd last seen each other - holy time flying!!!!  Hazel showed me some pictures of her grandkids, my cousins (or is it 2nd, 3rd cousins?) Bev, Steven and David - not in a million years would I have recognized them had we run into each other on the street....  Judy gave Gram a beautiful cross-stich portrait of B'Elanna, which I'm sure Bill and Anne will want!!!!  It was a lot of fun spending time with family, and even though we see each other so seldomly (is that a word?!), it still felt just like that - family...

10 / 23 / 02        More problems with this computer - I am doing all this updating on my site - and it saves .... then it doesn't
show up on the web page ..... don't know why and it's VERY frustrating....
Had a great "girlie" talk with Tamara tonite - all about guys and relationships and growth and art and all sorts ot interesting things - she's a terrific girl..... Did you know that there is this private detective agency that (for men only) will find out all
about a girl you're interested in and "design a coincidence" ..... ie: they'll book a seat next to her on a plane for the guy and he'll be able to strike up a conversation about her favourite book, or band or whatever..... how disturbing!!!! Here's the site if you don't believe me -
